The Government of Japan offers the following scholarship programmes each year for Malaysian nationals to apply. Interested applicants are advised to read the guidelines carefully. Unless stated otherwise, scholarship applications should be made to the Embassy of Japan, Kuala Lumpur. Please note that the requirements and application period differ among these programmes.

(A) Application Period: March every year

(F) Application Process (application for academic year 2013):
March ~ April 2012 Submit application form by due date.
May ~ June 2012 Written examination. Only successful candidates will be notified to sit for the examination.
July 2012 Interview. Only successful candidates will be notified to attend the interview.
August 2012 Nomination to Tokyo Headquarters.
January ~ February 2013 Notification of nomination result (final result).
April 2013 Depart to Japan.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
(1) Late submissions will not be entertained no matter what reasons are given.
(2) Applications without sufficient documents (stated in the guidelines) will not be considered.
(3) Submitted application forms and documents will not be returned, whatever reasons given.
(4) The decision on successful candidates made by the Embassy of Japan is final. Any queries on the final decision will not be entertained.

(A) Application Period: March every year

(B) Application Due Date for Academic Year 2013 (non-government servants): 6th April 2012 
     Application Due Date for Academic Year 2013 (government servants): 30th March 2012

(F) Application Process (application for academic year 2013):
March ~ April 2012 Submit application form by due date.
*Government servants should apply to the Public Service Department of Malaysia.
May ~ June 2012 Written examination. Only successful candidates will be notified to sit for the examination.
July 2012 Interview. Only successful candidates will be notified to attend the interview.
August 2012 Nomination to Tokyo Headquarters. Nominees must submit a Letter of Acceptance from any university in Japan.
January ~ February 2013 Notification of nomination result (final result).
April or October 2013 Depart to Japan.

      (a) Business Administration Course (Recommending Authority: National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia)
      (b) Law Course (Recommending Authority: Public Service Department of Malaysia)
      (c) School of Government Course (Recommending Authority: Public Service Department of Malaysia)
      (d) School of Local Governance Course (Recommending Authority: Public Service Department of Malaysia)
      (e) Medical Administration Course (Recommending Authority: Public Service Department of Malaysia)

(F) Application Process:
August ~ September Submit application form to respective Recommending Authorities by due date.
February (following year) Interview. Only successful candidates will be notified to attend the interview.
May~June Notification of final result.
September or October Depart to Japan.

(1) Applications must be submitted to the respective Recommending Authorities. Late submissions will not be entertained no matter what reasons are given.
(2) Applications without sufficient documents (stated in the guidelines) will not be considered.

Asian Youth Fellowship (AYF)
Asian Youth Fellowship (AYF) programme ends in academic year 2010 (application in 2009). There will be no more AYF application in the future. Please visit AYF website for the announcement.
