The 9th Annual Japanese Language Festival

On May 10, The 9th Annual Japanese Language Festival co-organized by the Japanese Language Society by Malaysia, the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia, the Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), was held at MJIIT in Kuala Lumpur. This event aims to promote the Japanese language and culture among Japanese language learners, especially young students. It also gives non-learners their first authentic taste of the language and culture of Japan and has been held annually since 2007.

Some 1,300 students from all across Malaysia participated in the Festival. Students enjoyed various Japanese cultural activities such as Origami, Furoshiki, Yukata wearing, Japanese cooking, Karate, Kendo and many more to experience the rich flavor of Japanese culture. They were able to deepen their interest in Japanese language and culture, at the same time, had an opportunity to perform what they have been practicing the choral speaking, Soran Dance competition etc. The atmosphere at the Festival was full of excitement.
