The Tanabata Festival
21 September 2015

On September 6,“The Tanabata Festival”co-organized by the Embassy of Japan and AOTS ALUMNI SOCIETY OF MALASIA (PAAM) was held in Petaling Jaya, with the aim to raise awareness of the Japanese culture by introducing this typical Japanese traditional event.

The participant in the festival wrote their wishes on tanzaku papers (colorful, small stripes of papers) and hung them on bamboo branches. They enjoyed various Japanese cultural activities such as Origami, Yukata dressing as well as the basic Karate steps for self-defense. The atmosphere at the festival was full of excitement.
