The much awaited for Japanese Film Festival is back for the 2010 season! Japanese Film Festival 2010, which features comparatively recent films shown in Japan, will be held in Kuala Lumpur from 17th to 21st June 2010.

8 Japanese films will be brought to the Malaysian cinema screens this year, including “Dear Doctor”, definitely a film to look out for. “Dear Doctor” is the latest production of Ms. Miwa Nishikawa, a well known young Japanese film director whose film was submitted to the “Cannes International Film Festival” and has received several Japanese movie awards. The main actor in “Dear Doctor”, Mr. Shoufukutei Tsurubei, a popular Japanese actor and comic storyteller, received the “Blue Ribbon Award” for his role as Dr. Osamu Ino. Another film you shouldn’t miss is “The Summit: A Chronicle of Stones to Serenity” which depicts a team of explorers risking their lives to conquer Mount Tsurugidake, the last unchartered region of Japan in 1907 to complete a map of Japan. This movie has received the “Japanese Academy Award” in 6 categories. The other lined up 6 movies including an animation “5 Centimaters per Second” will also attractive.

Admission to any of these Japanese Film Festival movies is RM 5. This is an opportunity not to be missed to enjoy Japanese movies brought to your doorstep on Malaysian screens!
