A Makizushi Demonstration was held at the University of Malaya on 3rd
October as one of the Japan Week 2012 events. This Makizushi
demonstration was given by the personal chef of the Japanese Ambassador
to Malaysia, Mr. Sakai.
After giving a brief introduction to the history of sushi and an
explanation on the process of making sushi, Chef Sakai demonstrated the
making of Makizushi. After his demonstration, four young volunteers
from the crowd had a go at trying their hands at making Makizushi,
supported by Chef Sakai. The event ended with a round of gastronomic
pleasure as about 200 from the audience got to taste the Makizushi made.
