Japanese traditional culture demonstrated at SOHOM meeting

A meeting of the Association of Spouses of Heads of Diplomatic Missions Malaysia (SOHOM) was held on 18 September at the Japanese Ambassador’s residence. Taking the occasion, two of the Japanese traditional culture, Kodo and Ikebana, was introduced.

Kodo, the incense appreciation, was demonstrated by Master Hakko Shigetomo of Senzan- goryu. Later, the participants were enjoying the fragrance by each holding the incense burner. An introduction of Ikebana followed, and by having the spouse of a Japanese embassy official as a teacher, two of the participants actually tried the Moribana style of Sogetsu school. The occasion turned out to be impressive and enjoyable.
