The
afternoon of 7 March 2010 was no ordinary Sunday afternoon for The
Summit Subang USJ Shopping Centre. Large throngs of shoppers were
treated to an exciting afternoon with the Japan-Malaysia Martial Arts
Demonstration jointly organized by Embassy of Japan and the Alumni Look
East Policy Society (ALEPS).
With the active participation of
martial arts associations and clubs in Malaysia, we not only presented
a lively showcase of “Judo”, “Jujitsu”, “Karate” and “Aikido” – styles
representative of Japanese martial arts, but also introduced “Silat” of
the Malays, “Kung Fu” of the Chinese and “Silanban” of the Indians to
the multi-racial society of Malaysia.
We hope this event would
further contribute to the popularity of Japanese Martial Arts in
Malaysia and also enhance the relations between Japan and Malaysia.
