Beware of bogus “Scholarship Application/Offer” |
30 January 2013
According to reports from several Embassies of Japan based in Africa, there are unidentified organizations which are disseminating information of Japanese Government Scholarship for studying in Japan via email or the internet. In addition, when contacted, the organizations requested for payment of “deposit” or “guarantee deposit” for the purpose of scholarship application. The Japanese Government wishes to clarify that all Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship applications are conducted via Embassies of Japan (and several Consulates General of Japan) or universities in Japan. Japanese diplomatic missions abroad will never request for any “deposit” or “guarantee deposit” for scholarship application. Please beware of suspicious scholarship offers and obtain Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship information from Japanese diplomatic missions abroad. |
