SSEAYP 2010 Participants Visited Malaysia
(12-15 Nov 2010)

Malaysia was the first country visited by the Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program (SSEAYP) 2010. There are 319 youths from ASEAN 10 countries and Japan onboard the Ship. These youth participants took part in exchange programs such as home-stay, institution visits from 12th to 15th November 2010 in Malaysia. Subsequently, they are heading on to Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam before returning to Japan on 15th December.

The amount of youth participants is now more than 10,000 since the program started in 1974. The experiences gathered and friendships developed through group activities onboard the voyage of more than a month have contributed significantly to the promotion of friendly relationships and mutual understanding between ASEAN countries and Japan.
