       In November 2016, “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon （旭日中綬章：Kyokujitsu-Chūjushō）” was conferred upon Datuk Seri Mohamed Iqbal Rawther by His Majesty the Emperor of Japan. Datuk Seri has contributed to realising the amicable bilateral economic ties between Japan and Malaysia by serving for the Malaysia-Japan Economic Association (MAJECA) as its Vice President cum Secretary General. Datuk Seri has also played a significant role in introducing Japanese management ethics into Malaysian society. The ceremony to present the decoration was held on 23rd January 2017 at the Residence of H.E. Ambassador Dr. Makio Miyagawa in Kuala Lumpur.

       The Japanese decoration was bestowed in recognition of his long-term contribution to further strengthening the bilateral economic relations between Japan and Malaysia.
