Awarding Ceremony of Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation
to the Japanese Language Society of Malaysia

The Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation was initiated with the aim to recognize and honor individuals and organizations who have made tremendous contribution to promote amity between Japan and other countries.

This year, the Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation is awarded to the Japanese Language Society of Malaysia (JLSM) as an expression of profound appreciation and respect for its efforts of more than 40 years in promoting mutual understanding between Japan and Malaysia.

JLSM was established in 1968 as an organization that provides Japanese Language classes. Later on, the scope of their activities expanded to include Japanese culture and personnel exchanges between Japan and Malaysia.

An awarding ceremony was held in conjunction with the joyous occasion of the opening ceremony of JLSM’s new office on 1st August 2010.
