LIBRARY (books and materials are for reference only)
You can find an excess of 2,000 books and 30 types of periodicals in Japanese, English, Malay and Chinese in our library for your research and reference purposes. Furthermore, you are welcome to watch our video tapes, especially the Japan Video Topic which provide information the latest trends in Japan, and make use of our CD facilities during our office hours.

*The Foreign Press Center Japan was established in October 1976 as an independent, private and non-profit foundation with a basic fund provided by Nihon Shimbun Kyokai (the Japan Newspapers Publishers and Editors Association) and former Keidanren [now Nippon Keidanren (Japan Business Federation)]. Operating funds come from government appropriations for contracted work and from contributions by supporting corporations and organizations.

2. LOAN of MATERIALS (For non-profit organizations only)


Guidelines
(a) Eligible body: non-profit organizations, such as government bodies, educational institutions, associations which organize events to promote Japanese culture. Loan items are not for personal use.
 
(b) Loan Term: one week
 
(c) List of items available
  • audio materials (DVD, CD, Japan Video Topic)
  • Japanese artefacts (Japanese costume such as yukata and happi, tableware, tea set, dolls, crafts, decorative items, etc.)
(d) Restriction on number of items at one application
  • audio materials: 2 items
  • Japanese artefacts: no limits
(e) Loan Conditions
  • Copying or reproduction of audio materials is strictly prohibited.
  • Loan items such as costume must be sent for dry cleaning before returning to JIS.
  • Loan is free of charge but transportation for collection and return of items should be arranged by borrowers. Borrowers are responsible for the safe return of the loan item(s) and must replace damaged or lost items, if any. JIS will approve the loan depending on the borrowers' capability of taking care of the item(s).
