On 31 March, Ambassador Miyagawa, presented a Letter of Appreciation from the Japanese Foreign Minister to Professor Megat Johari Megat Mohd Noor, the Former Dean of Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT)(Currently, Director of the Centre for Quality and Risk Management, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia). The Letter was conferred to Professor Megat for his significant contribution in enhancing the bilateral relations between Japan and Malaysia as the Dean of MJIIT.

Ambassador Miyagawa conveyed his appreciation to Professor Megat, and expressed his hopes that MJIIT will not only serve as strengthening the bilateral relations between Japan and Malaysia, but would also be a hub of Japanese style engineering education in the ASEAN region, as well as a model case to be presented to the international society.

Professor Megat said it was a great honor to receive Japanese Foreign Minister’s Letter of Appreciation, and added that the appreciation must go to everyone involved in MJIIT for their contribution. He also mentioned that he hoped the relations between Malaysia and Japan will further enhance through exchanges in education and in various other fields.
