Gracing Ceremony of MMEA Offshore Patrol Vessel from the Japanese Government |

On 21st March, an offshore patrol vessel donated by Japan
to MMEA was named at a ceremony held in LIMA'17. The patrol vessel was named "KM Pekan" by Yang Amat Berhormat Dato' Sri Najib Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia. Prime Minister Najib and Ryosei TANAKA, State Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Japan wrote in the guest book of KM Pekan and inspected the vessel. Dato' Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, Minister of Defense, Malaysia, Dato‘ Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Malaysia and Dr Makio MIYAGAWA, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia also attend this ceremony. 2017 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Malaysia. This event is a memorable and suitable to commemorate the 60th anniversary. From now also, Japan will cooperate with Malaysia and strive to ensure the safety of the waters surrounding Malaysia. ![]() ![]()
