The Government of Japan has decided to extend financial aid to Alumni Look East Policy Society (ALEPS), an NGO in Kuala Lumpur, under its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects Scheme, for “the Project for Purchasing Used Wheelchairs for Children.” The grant contract between the Embassy of Japan and ALEPS was signed on 18th February 2010.


ALEPS is an alumni association of students of Japanese universities based on Look East Policy and supports Malaysia-Japan exchange programs. ALEPS, in its activities, also runs a project of lending used wheelchairs from Japan for children in need as part of Malaysia-Japan exchange programs. With this donation, ALEPS will be able to expand such project by importing around 100 wheelchairs from Japan.
