Presentation Ceremony to Malaysian Care under Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects |
The Government of Japan has donated US$ 26,697 (RM81,587) to Malaysian Care for “The Project for Installing a Mobile Community Centre for Community Building in Urban Poor District”. The Grant supported Malaysian Care to procure a 1-tonne truck, a PC and library system to set up a mobile community centre with library facilities to reach out to the urban poor community in order to encourage community building and to empower the community to help themselves. The Handover Ceremony and launch of the Mobile Community Resource Centre - Bumblebee was held on 23rd February 2013 at Tabika Perpaduan Taman Damai, Kapar, Klang. H.E. Mr Shigeru Nakamura, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia delivered a speech at the event. Malaysian Care is an NGO which provides diversified community services such as community building, drug abuse prevention, and HIV prevention and is strongly committed to community development. Currently, Malaysian Care is working with 46 communities to implement its tools such as financial literacy courses, income generation classes, study support for children, and microfinance programme.
