On 29 April 2015, the Government of Japan announced the foreign recipients of the 2015 Spring Imperial Decorations. Among 85 foreign recipients is Tan Sri Marzuki Mohd Noor, former Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan. Tan Sri Marzuki is bestowed upon the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star, in recognition of his significant contributions to promoting bilateral relations and mutual understanding between Japan and Malaysia. Tan Sri Marzuki currently holds several important posts such as the Chairman of Suzuki Malaysia Automobile, Chairman of Mitsubishi Mortors Malaysia, Chairman of Eradan Otomobil Nasional and Director of Honda Malaysia, among others.
