at the 28th ASIA-PACIFIC ROUNDTABLE

The 28th ASIA-PACIFIC ROUNDTALE, organized by ASEAN-ISIS and ISIS MALAYSIA was held from June 2nd to 4th in KL with the participants of around 370.  Mr. Mitsuya, Senior Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan participated from the Government of Japan, and he made a keynote speech at plenary session 1 June 3rd, on Japan’s security policy with its emphasis on Japan’s proactive contributor to Peace and Japan’s contribution to the peace and prosperity in the region.

There are other contributing speakers form Japan and made their respective presentation such as Maj. Gen. Jun Nagashima, Cabinet Councillor & Deputy Assistant Chief Cabinet Secretary, National Security Secretariat, Japan, Prof. Tomohide Murai, National Defence Academy, Japan, Amb.Yoshiji Nogami, President of Japan Institute of International Affairs & former Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Mr.Hitoshi Tanaka, Chairman of JRI Institute for International Strategy & Former Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan.  

The 28th APR has provided a meaningful opportunity for various participants like government officials, academia, scholars, and researchers to deepen their understanding of Japan’s contribution towards the peace and prosperity of the region
