Opening Ceremony of AHA Centre Executive (ACE) Programme Humanitarian Logistics Training in Subang |

![]() Minister Matsuura (seated on the left of the three-seater sofa) The Government of Japan has been providing support to the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA) through the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF). This year, as part of the AHA Executive Programme, a six-month duration humanitarian logistics support training programme on disaster management, targeting officers in charge of disaster management in 10 ASEAN countries including Malaysia is being carried out. On the 7th of April, the opening ceremony for the said programme was held at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Subang. Besides Mr. Hiroshi Matsuura, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia and Mr. Ogu Salim bin Omar, Deputy Secretary of National Security Council of Malaysia, Mr. Said Faisal, Executive Director of AHA Centre and Mr. Belkacem Benzaza, Hub Manager of UNHRD were also present. During the opening ceremony, the organisers expressed their gratitude to the Government of Japan for its tremendous support and cooperation. It is hoped that ASEAN leaders who are in charge of disaster management could receive further training through this programme. |
