On 3rd May, Ambassador Miyagawa attended the Third High-Speed Rail Symposium in Malaysia, with Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in Japan, Mr. Keiichi Ishii and Chairman of the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD), Y Bhg. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Syed Hamid bin Syed Jaafar Albar. Minister Ishii highlighted the benefits to Malaysian public and economy in installing Shinkansen (HSR) system, and cooperation with Malaysia in terms of capacity building and technology transfer.
   On 4th May, Ambassador Miyagawa and Minister Ishii had a meeting with Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Y.B. Dato’ Haji Abdul Rahman Bin Haji Dahlan, Finance Minister II, Y.B. Datuk Johari bin Abdul Ghani and Transport Minister, Y.B. Dato’ Seri Liow Tiong Lai and emphasized the advantage of Shinkansen, assistance in capacity building and collaboration with local company.
   On 3rd May, Ambassador Miyagawa and Minister Ishii had a meeting with Tourism and Culture Minister, Y.B. Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz and exchanged a view on collaboration in tourism between Japan and Malaysia.
