State Minister of MLIT visits Malaysia


23rd March 2017 

     During March 19th-22nd, Deputy Minister Ryosei Tanaka visited Malaysia. With Ambassador Miyagawa, he attended the opening ceremony of the Kuala Lumpur office of the Japanese National Tourism Organization (JNTO), visited government leaders and attended the Gracing Ceremony of MMEA Offshore Patrol Vessel from the Japanese Government at LIMA.
     In his address at the JNTO opening ceremony, Deputy Minster Tanaka praised the fact that the office was founded in the same year as the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Malaysia, and that this opportunity would further promote tourism exchange between the two countries.
     As for the Kuala Lumpur - Singapore High-Speed Rail project, he highlighted the Sinkansen’s advantages in the meeting with government leaders.
