Letter of Intent between The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Kuala Lumpur City Hall

On 1st September, Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Kuala Lumpur City signed an agreement on exchange and cooperation, in which the two cities agreed to promote exchange and cooperation on matters related to development of urban infrastructure, countermeasures for aging infrastructure, urban environmental measures, including climate change response measures and the technological challenges of cities.

The signing of the agreement was held during the visit of Governor of Tokyo, KOIKE Yuriko, to Malaysia. At the signing ceremony, the Governor Koike said that flooding and environmental issues derived from climate change are common challenges that The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Kuala Lumpur City are facing and they would like to promote cooperation to solve these issues by sharing a wide range of knowledge and information from both sides.
