Conferment Ceremony of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette for Dr. Md Nasrudin bin Md Akhir, former director of the Malaysia-Japan Research Centre at the University of Malaya

On October 26, a Conferment Ceremony of 2021 Spring Conferment of Decorations for foreign recipients was held at the Japanese Ambassador’s Residence. Dr. Md Nasrudin bin Md Akhir, former director of the Malaysia-Japan Research Centre at the University of Malaya, received The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette.
Dr. Md Nasrudin bin Md Akhir has contributed not only to the establishment and management of the Japanese studies programme as associate professor and director of the Malaysia-Japan Research Centre at the University of Malaya, but also to the promotion of Japanese studies through Malaysian Association of Japanese Studies (MAJAS), as well as peace building by organising the first atomic bomb exhibition in Asia at the University of Malaya. This prestigious award was conferred in recognition of his remarkable contribution to promote academic exchange and mutual understanding between Japan and Malaysia. The ceremony was attended by colleagues from the University of Malaya, congratulating Dr. Md Nasrudin on his conferment.
