2025 Autumn Conferment of Decorations

On November 3, the Government of Japan announced the recipients of the 2025 Autumn Imperial Decorations. Among the honourees are the following distinguished individuals within the jurisdictions of the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia and the Consular Office of Japan in Kota Kinabalu, who have been recognised for their outstanding contributions to strengthening Japan–Malaysia relations:

 

 

1. Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg

*Premier of Sarawak

 

Services: Contribution to promoting regional exchange and mutual understanding between Japan and Malaysia.

Decoration: The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star

 

 

2. Ms. Wong Wai Chun

* Former Local Employee, Embassy of Japan in Malaysia

 

Services: Contribution to the activities of the Japanese overseas establishment.

Decoration: The Order of the Sacred Treasure, Silver Rays
