Courtesy call by Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers on Ambassador Shikata

On 2nd December, Ambassador Shikata received a courtesy call from six Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) who recently arrived in Malaysia to begin their assignments in Malaysia.
Among the volunteers, Ms. Aisaka will engage in occupational therapy in Sarawak; Mr. Kiyota will assist in welfare for person with disabilities in Kedah; Mr. Seki will engage in automobile maintenance training in Selangor; Ms. Hayakawa will assist in forest management with GIS and Satellite data in Sabah; Mr. Matsuoka will support Judo athletes in Malaysia and Mr. Yamagishi will engage in Japanese language education in MJIIT.
During the meeting, Ambassador Shikata encouraged them to do their best in their respective roles and to build strong networks within the local community throughout their tenure in Malaysia.
