On the 2nd of July, Ambassador Oka paid a courtesy call on Y.B. Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin bin Tun Hussein, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia. This courtesy call follows the Japan-Malaysia Foreign Ministers’ Telephone Talk held on the 19th of May.
Ambassador Oka and Minister Hishammuddin exchanged views on cooperation between Japan and Malaysia, including measures against novel coronavirus (COVID-19), recovery of each and regional economy and the 40th anniversary of Look East Policy in 2021. Both sides shared the view to promote cooperation to further strengthen the relationship between Japan and Malaysia.
