Important notice to Consular Section Visitors (Appointment is required)

Due to the extension of the “Recovery Movement Control Order” by the Malaysian government until end of December, embassy will continue the appointment system for Consular services at the moment until further notice.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused, and we seek for your understanding and kind cooperation during this period.

1. Consular services operating hours

Please make an appointment in advance via email and come at the scheduled date and time.
*Time slot available for reservation: 9:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 16:00

 
2. Consular services we provide

General services such as visa application, application and collection of passports and other certificates.
 
3. How to make an appointment

Please make appointments via email as indicated below before visiting our embassy.
We will send a reply with a confirmed date and time of reservation after checking the available time slots. Appointment should be made in advance. Please note that we do not accept a same-day reservations.

4. Working Days required for Issuance of Passport and Certificate

Change to: 5 working days (Example: Apply on Monday → Collect on Friday)
Previously: 4 working days (Example : Apply on Monday → Collect on Thursday)

Note : Certification of signature, certification of residence, additional pages for passport can be processed on the same day.

5. Application and Issuance of Visa
  1. Due to the border enforcement measures imposed by the Japan government, we do not accept visa applications for short term stay and long term purposes until further notice.

    Those who need special consideration for humanitarian purposes, application of diplomatic and official visa, please contact our visa section for assistance at visa@kl.mofa.go.jp
