"10th Japanese Ambassador's Cup" Kendo Championships

On 30th August, the Embassy of Japan co-hosted the "10th Japanese Ambassador's Cup" Kendo Championships with Malaysia Kendo Association. The Japanese Ambassador's Cup is an annual kendo competition since 2014, except during the COVID-19 pandemic, in which athletes from dojos (clubs) across Malaysia come together to compete.
In his speech at the opening ceremony, Ambassador SHIKATA Noriyuki expressed his gratitude to the Malaysia Kendo Association for their significant contributions to the promotion of Kendo in Malaysia, He also expressed his hope that Kendo will further promote sports exchange and friendship between Japan and Malaysia.
The venue was filled with excitement and enthusiasm as the participants showcased heated matches as the outcome of their regular hard keiko or training.
