On 5 December, Mr HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, sent a congratulatory letter to Y.B. Senator Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, on his assumption of office as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia following the swearing-in ceremony on 3 December.
In the letter, Foreign Minister Hayashi conveyed his determination to further strengthen the bilateral ties underpinned by the Look East policy of Malaysia, and to cooperate closely on regional and international challenges, including the realization of a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific."
