Launching of Japan Food Export Platform in Malaysia

On 2 May, the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries and JETRO Kuala Lumpur, held the launching ceremony for Japan Food Export Platform in Malaysia at the Ambassador's Residence.
 
The ceremony was attended by Mr. TAKAHASHI Mitsuo, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, and YB Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, along with approximately 100 guests including Malaysian government officials and representatives from food-related businesses. At the ceremony, guests enjoyed conversations as well as Japanese cuisine and drinks which are expected to become even more popular in Malaysia. The occasion was held also in collaboration with Japanese Cuisine Goodwill Ambassadors and others engaged in Japanese food and drink industries.

The Japan Food Export Platform, primarily led by Embassy of Japan and JETRO, will continuously support business stakeholders by providing updated information and planning  activities to promote  Japanese food.
 
The Malaysia Platform is the first one to be established in a Muslim-majority country . The Embassy of Japan in Malaysia, in collaboration with JETRO Kuala Lumpur, will further promote Japanese cuisine in Malaysia through the Platform activities.
