On 7th of July, Ambassador OKA paid a courtesy call on Y.B. Datuk Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri, Minister in Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), and exchanged views on the role of the government on religious activities and the impact of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on social activities. Ambassador OKA also explained about the programme by government of Japan to invite teachers at religious schools in Malaysia. In addition, regarding the HALAL certification of the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), Ambassador OKA introduced that many Japanese companies have built factories in Malaysia to manufacture, sell and export JAKIM-certified foods, contributing also to the Malaysian economy and that foods and goods with halal certification of Japanese halal certification institutions recognised by JAKIM are imported to Malaysia. And both sides confirmed to continue to cooperate in this field.
