The signing ceremony for the Agent Agreement with MINDEF for "Official Security Assistance (OSA)"

On October 9th, the signing ceremony for the Agent Agreement with the Malaysian Ministry of Defence for the FY2023 "Official Security Assistance (OSA)" was held at the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia. This will allow further coordination regarding the provision of equipment through OSA.
Malaysia is one of the first recipient countries of OSA, established in 2023, and surveillance equipment for maritime security will be provided. Japan will continue to support strengthening the capabilities of the Malaysian Armed Forces regarding maritime security to contribute to ensuring stability in the Straits of Malacca, the South China Sea as important sea lanes for both countries.
