The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, Indo-Pacific Deployment Surface Force Port Call at Penang

The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force’s Indo-Pacific Deployment Surface Force, Minesweeper tender JS “BUNGO” and Minesweeper JS “TAKASHIMA” called at Penang Port on Tuesday, 3rd December 2019. A welcome ceremony was held at the Swettenham Cruise Terminal attended by Mr. Kanoya, Consul-General of Japan in Penang and students of Penang Japanese School. These Japanese students residents and Malaysian Navy personnel enjoyed special ship tour during their port visit. Prior to the arrival to Penang, those two vessels conducted a goodwill exercise with Royal Malysian Navy vessel, KD Laksamana Tun Abudul Jamil on 1st December. They contributed to deepen the friendship between Japan and Malaysia throughout their port visit until 5th December 2019.
