Shikoku/Tokushima Prefecture Tourism Seminar

On 27th January, Ambassador Shikata attended the “Shikoku/Tokushima Prefecture Tourism Seminar,” hosted by Western Tokushima Tourism Association Sora no sato. The event took place at Awagyu IOI City Mall, a restaurant in Putrajaya specializing in Awa Wagyu beef, and aimed to promote the attractions of Shikoku and Tokushima Prefecture to the Malaysian audience.
 
At the venue, presentations on tourism information related to Shikoku and Tokushima were delivered, and a special menu featuring local ingredients and specialties from Tokushima, including Awa beef, was offered. Travel agencies, media representatives, and Malaysian government officials participated in the event.
 
In his remarks, Ambassador Shikata highlighted the important role of tourism in connecting people and regions. He also noted the recent increase in visitors from Malaysia to Japan and expressed his hope that this seminar would serve as an opportunity to further boost inbound tourism.
 
It is expected that, through continued promotion of Japan’s regional attractions, tourism exchanges between the two countries will be further strengthened.
