Courtesy call by Ambassador Takahashi on Dato’ Cheong Loon Lai, Deputy Secretary General (Multilateral Affairs), Ministry of Foreign Affairs

On the 11th of January, Ambassador Takahashi paid a courtesy call on Dato' Cheong Loon Lai, Deputy Secretary General (Multilateral Affairs), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.
During the courtesy call, Ambassador Takahashi stated that Japan would like to promote cooperation and collaboration with Malaysia further in the field of multilateral diplomacy, as this year marks the 40th anniversary of the Look East Policy and the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Japan-Malaysia diplomatic relations.
Additionally, they exchanged views on various topics such as importance of multilateralism, reforms of the United Nations including Security Council Reform, NPT Review Conference which is planned to be held this year, refugee issues and third country cooperation in Malaysia.
