On 11th July, the Embassy of Japan hosted a conferment ceremony of the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star for Tan Sri Rastam bin Mohd Isa, former Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia and former Chairman and Chief Executive of the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS).
At the forefront of diplomacy in many years, Tan Sri Rastam has contributed to various Japan-Malaysia cooperation, including VIPs’ bilateral visits, economic and security fields, as well as to developing academic engagements between two countries.
This award honors his remarkable contributions to strengthening relations between Japan and Malaysia.
