On January 10, Ambassador Takahashi paid a courtesy visit on Dato' Seri Ir. Dr. Zaini Ujang, Secretary General, Ministry of Environment and Water.
At the meeting, Ambassador Takahashi expressed his appreciation for the close cooperation between Japan and Malaysia in the fields of environment and water as well as higher education. In addition, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations between Japan and Malaysia, seizing an opportunity of the 40th anniversary of the Look East Policy.
Dato Seri first visited Japan in 1986 as a trainee under a JICA programme. After returning to Malaysia, he has been promoting Japanese values and culture through his work and books.
