Ambassador Shikata attended the PETRONAS Malaysia Open 2026

From 6th to 11th January, the PETRONAS Malaysia Open 2026 was held. During the tournament, Ambassador SHIKATA Noriyuki met with Japanese badminton players and attended the matches.
Badminton is a popular nationwide sport in Malaysia. As this tournament is recognized as a “Super 1000” Series, the highest grade of the BWF (Badminton World Federation) World Tour, top players from around the world gathered, and the venue was filled with the excitement of many spectators. The Japanese women’s doubles pair of Ms. FUKUSHIMA Yuki and Ms. MATSUMOTO Mayu achieved an excellent result by finishing third.
