The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Escort Flotilla 1 port call at Port Klang

The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Escort Flotilla 1 JS “IZUMO” and JS “MURASAME” called at Port Klang on Sunday, 26th May 2019. 326 Japanese nationals with students of Japanese School of Kuala Lumpur attended a welcome ceremony. On Monday 27th, a reception on board JS “IZUMO” hosted Attorney General, The Honourable Tuan Tommy Thomas and Deputy Minister of Defense, Y.B. Senator Tuan Liew Chin Tong. On Tuesday 28th, defense cooperation on Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief with Malaysian Armed Forces was conducted on board JS “IZUMO”. JSDF personnel participated various events such as offering flowers at Japanese Monument, visiting Japanese School, and defense interactions with Royal Malaysian Navy. They contributed to deepen the friendship between Japan and Malaysia throughout their port visit until 29th May 2019.
