Visiting of flood control facilities, etc. in Malaysia by a team of engineers from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government

On 5th and 6th July, a team of engineers from Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) visited KL to learn about flood countermeasures and water and sewerage in Malaysia as well as to share their knowledge and technology for flood countermeasures and water and sewerage of TMG. During the visit, they observed flood control facilities such as the SMART Tunnel, rainwater harvesting facilities under construction, dam and also made courtesy calls on Y.B. Dato’ Seri Dr. Shahidan Kassim, Minister of the Federal Territory and Datuk Mahadi Che Ngahthe, Mayor of KL. At the courtesy call, both Minister and Mayor encouraged engineers from TMG to share their knowledge and technology with Malaysia to realize a flood-free KL City in the future.
They also held a meeting with engineers from KL City to discuss sharing knowledge and technology between KL City and TMG and agreed to foster their cooperation in flood countermeasures and water and sewerage.
