Maritime Self-Defence Force destroyer Sazanami and Malaysian naval vessel KD JEBAT conducted Bilateral Joint Exercises

On 13 February, the Maritime Self-Defence Force destroyer Sazanami conducted a Bilateral Joint Exercises with Malaysian naval vessel KD JEBAT.
This was the first Bilateral Joint Exercises since “the Memorandum on Defence Cooperation and Exchange”between Japan and Malaysia was signed in 2018.
The joint statement issued at Japan・Malaysia Summit Meeting last December elevated the bilateral relationship to “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership”
This joint exercise commemorates such a historic step between our nations.
Japan will continue to cooperate with the Malaysian Government in various security areas, including trough the Official Security Assistance (OSA), the Japan-Malaysia Strategic Dialogue, personnel exchange and equipment cooperation.
