Ambassador TAKAHASHI attends ' High Level Talks on City-to-City Collaborations towards Zero Carbon Kuala Lumpur 2023'

On 8 August, Ambassador TAKAHASHI attended the “High Level Talks on City-to-City Collaborations towards Zero Carbon Kuala Lumpur 2023”.
Ambassador TAKAHASHI noted in his opening remarks that decarbonisation was an important area of cooperation between ASEAN and Japan as the two celebrate the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation this year. He added that this project would be a catalyst to further develop the cooperation between Japan and Malaysia towards decarbonisation as well as enhance bilateral relations.
Mr. SHIMIZU Hayato, Mayor of Saitama City presented Saitama city's initiatives to build smart cities in his keynote speech while the representatives from the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA), the City of Kuala Lumpur, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Takasago Construction Co., Ltd. and others presented their initiatives on carbon neutrality and the potential for future collaboration.
