Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) ship JS ASAHI conducted a bilateral exercise “MALPAN” with the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) and the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) in the South China Sea on 13th April.
They conducted helicopter deck landing exercise, air defense exercise, and more. This was the first time for RMAF to join the bilateral exercise with the JMSDF. Japan will continue to cooperate with Malaysia to contribute to maritime security in the region under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Japan and Malaysia.
