Japan Premium Sake Association Tasting Event in Malaysia

On 28 October, the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia organized the ‘Ehime Sake Brewery Association tasting event in Malaysia’ at the Japanese Ambassador's residence, in collaboration with the Ehime Sake Brewery Association, Ehime Prefecture and JETRO Kuala Lumpur.
8 sake breweries from the Ehime Sake Brewery Association participated in the event. Approximately 60 guests including those from the food and beverage-related businesses enjoyed tasting the different types of exquisite sake including the 'Sakurahime series', which uses Ehime's specialty Sakurahime yeast.
Ambassador Takahashi, in his opening address, referred to the long-standing friendship between Ehime Prefecture and Malaysia, and said that ‘each sake reflects the essence of its region’s natural surroundings, so I encourage all of you to experience the unique flavors of Ehime sake today’.
Mr Ochi, the chairman of the Ehime Sake Brewery Association, highlighted the delicate and well-balanced flavour of Ehime sake and expressed hope that the appeal of Ehime sake would spread in Malaysia.
The Embassy of Japan in Malaysia will continue to promote the understanding of Japanese food culture in Malaysia in cooperation with JETRO and industry associations.
