Ambassador Shikata Attends the Opening Ceremony of the Universiti Malaya Hanabi Taikai and Introduction of Japanese Culture

On 13 June, Hanabi Taikai was held at Universiti Malaya (UM), and H.E. Mr. Shikata Noriyuki, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia, attended the event.
 
The event was organized by the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics and the Japanese Club of Universiti Malaya with the aim of promoting a greater understanding of Japanese culture and further strengthening exchanges between Japan and Malaysia. The event attracted a large number of students and members of the public. The Embassy of Japan also hosted a Japanese cultural booth featuring hands-on activities such as origami, kendama, and ring toss.
 
During the opening ceremony, Ambassador Shikata delivered remarks, expressing his appreciation to the organizers and all those involved in making the event possible. He also highlighted the longstanding friendship between Japan and Malaysia, which has flourished since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1957.
 
Visitors enjoyed experiencing the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese festival and had a valuable opportunity to learn more about the richness and appeal of Japanese culture.
