MIDORI∞INFINITY Youth & Innovation Dialogue in Malaysia
2026/4/17
On 7–8 April, the MIDORI∞INFINITY Youth & Innovation Dialogue in Malaysia was successfully held at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Sekinchan, Selangor, together with Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), UPM, and the University of Tsukuba,Malaysia(UTMy).
Prior to the seminar on 7 April, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between UPM and UTMy, marking an important step forward in Japan–Malaysia cooperation on sustainable agriculture.
The seminar brought together students, researchers, policymakers, and companies to exchange ideas on sustainable and low-emission agrifood systems.
On 8 April, participants joined a field trip to Sekinchan, where they experienced sustainable agriculture in practice — from paddy fields to research facilities.
A highlight was the demonstration of the Japanese “Aigamo robot,” a weeding robot that showcases how innovative technologies from Japan can support more sustainable rice cultivation.
Through both dialogue and hands-on experience, the program deepened mutual understanding and inspired the next generation to shape a more sustainable future.
