Conferment Ceremony of Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun for YBhg Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, former Minister of International Trade and Industry and former Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economics)

On 16th July, the Embassy of Japan hosted a conferment ceremony of Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun for YBhg Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, former Minister of International Trade and Industry and former Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economics).
Dato’Sri Mustapa contributed to strengthening Japan-Malaysia trade and economic relations through promoting Malaysia's participation in the CPTPP and upgraded the Look East Policy. Additionally, he took a leading role in enhancing Japan - Malaysia energy relationship by promoting a stable supply of LNG to Japan as well as Malaysia’s participation in the Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC).
This award honors his remarkable contributions to strengthening economy and energy relations between Japan and Malaysia.
