Minister of Justice in Japan, Ms. Yoko KAMIKAWA, visited Malaysia from 16th (Tue) to 17th (Wed) in January in 2018. She made a call on YAB Dato’ Sri Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs in Malaysia. She invited YAB Dato’ Sri to the 14th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, to be held in Kyoto, Japan in 2020, and they discussed on addressing terrorism, violent extremism and other issues.
In regard to international arbitration, she discussed measures to promote arbitration with Datuk Prof. Sundra Rajoo, director of Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration. She also had a meeting with Japanese companies in Malaysia and discussed challenges in legal matters that they faced abroad.
