Mr. MIYASHITA Ichiro, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries visited Malaysia

Mr. MIYASHITA Ichiro, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries visited Malaysia from 4 to 6 October to attend meetings with ASEAN Ministers on Agriculture and Forestry (AMAF).
During his visit, he co-chaired with Datuk Seri Mohamad Bin Sabu, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, the 1st Meeting of the ASEAN-Japan Ministers of Agriculture and Forestry On that occasion where the 'ASEAN-Japan MIDORI Cooperation Plan' proposed by Japan was adopted. Minister MIYASHITA also attended the Meeting of the ASEAN+3 Ministers of Agriculture and Forestry to discuss cooperation in the agricultural sector within the ASEAN+3 framework.
At the bilateral meetings with Minister Mohamad Sabu and some other head of delegates, Minister MIYASHITA stressed the safety of Japanese fisheries products. In addition, Minister MIYASHITA participated in the Japanese fisheries products promotion event held at a retail outlet as well as hosted a Japanese Seafood Reception in a Japanese restaurant in order to promote the safety and attractiveness of Japanese fisheries products. He also visited the Japanese Cemetery in Kuala Lumpur.
