The Send-off ceremony for the 2026 Japanese Government Scholarship recipients

On 18 March, Embassy of Japan co-hosted the send-off ceremony for the 2026 Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship recipients with Japan Graduates’ Association of Malaysia (JAGAM). This year, 33 Malaysian students (as of 18 March) will pursue their studies in Japan as the 2026 Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship recipients.
At the ceremony, Ambassador SHIKATA Noriyuki extended words of encouragement to the students departing for Japan and expressed his expectation that, through their studies and experiences in Japan, they will become future leaders who contribute to the development of Japan-Malaysia relations as well as the wider ASEAN region.
